After a miserably hot summer, the temp finally dropped down to a comfortable range. At long last, I can get out in the garden, just in time for fall cleanup.

1. Although looking a bit worn, a few things are still blooming. This is a pretty little cosmos, undoubtedly a descendant of last year’s wildflower experiment.

2. The last bloom on my sturdy yellow rose.

3. And the last bloom on my little Max Frei geranium.

4. The cardinal vine is still blooming even as its leaves change color.

5. The blueberries are turning a brilliant red.

6. Taking center stage now are falling leaves. What began as a trickle is quickly becoming an avalanche. Anything on the ground will soon be buried.
