Gardening on Stoney Knob
Landscaping among the boulders, bugs and bears of Buncombe County, North Carolina
Over 10 years ago I moved from Seattle to the Asheville area and purchased a house in the pleasant little community of Stoney Knob. The house sits on a standard, cookie cutter plot. My goal is to turn it into something interesting.
These are my gardening adventures with rocks, red clay, drought, frog-strangling downpours, rocks, deer, bear, rocks, voracious squirrels, voracious bugs and, oh yeah, did I mention rocks? But, hey, if it was easy, it wouldn’t be any fun!
Love the blog! I do like the Mason bee experiment too – extremely interesting and didn’t know there were a variety that stung less…. might try it!
